Kakheti region, located in Eastern Georgia, is the country’s main wine region, known for its scenic vineyards, beautiful landscapes, rich culture, and ancient winemaking method using Qvevri (clay vessels) - recognized by UNESCO. Kakheti is also famous for its hospitality and diverse culinary traditions. The region’s main towns include Telavi, Sighnaghi, and Kvareli - each offering unique architecture, museums, and panoramic views. Kakheti is home to some of Georgia’s most important spiritual and historical heritage: Bodbe Monastery (the burial place of St. Nino), Alaverdi Monastery, Ikalto Monastery, Gremi Church, etc.
